Survey on the use of the temporary JobKeeper provisions of the Fair Work Act

Thank you for taking the time to complete this short survey about the use of the workplace flexibilities introduced during COVID 19 for employers receiving payments under the JobKeeper scheme and their impact on business operations.

Please ONLY answer this survey if you are: 
  • an employer receiving JobKeeper payments for one or more employees, and
  • NOT a sole trader
The short survey should take no longer than 5-10 minutes. All your responses will be treated confidentially. We do not need to know your name. Please only complete the survey once. We will put together all the answers from people who fill in the survey to make a full picture of what employers think. We will ensure that individuals cannot be identified by any specific comments they make. 

Background
In early April, in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, temporary workplace flexibilities were provided to employers through the JobKeeper provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (JobKeeper provisions). These provisions enabled employers receiving JobKeeper payments for an employee to:
  • stand down that employee (including by reducing their hours or days of work)
  • direct that employee to perform any duties within their skill and competency
  • direct that employee to work somewhere else that is suitable and does not require the employee to travel an unreasonable distance. 
The temporary changes also enabled employers to request employees who are receiving JobKeeper payments to make certain agreements with them. These agreements could be about changes to their days and /or times of work or about taking paid annual leave in certain circumstances.

Purpose of the survey
This survey is being conducted to gain an understanding of the impact and value of these temporary JobKeeper provisions. The results will be provided to the Australian Government. 
In particular, the survey explores:
  1. if, and how, you have been using the temporary provisions 
  2. how important these provisions have been to your business
  3. whether these provisions would be of benefit to you as an employer in the recovery from COVID 19.
